A shocking incident occurred this afternoon in Lagos, where a man identified as Mr. Chinedu Okafor allegedly poured acid on his wife, Mrs. Amaka Okafor, following a domestic disagreement. According to neighbors, the argument began when Mrs. Okafor reportedly refused to cook for her husband.

The incident took place in the Agege area of Lagos, leaving the community in shock. Mrs. Okafor sustained severe burns and was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where she is currently receiving treatment in critical condition.

The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed the incident. Spokesperson SP Benjamin Hundeyin stated that Mr. Okafor has been arrested and is currently in police custody as investigations continue.

Human rights organizations and domestic violence advocates have condemned the act, calling for justice and stronger measures to protect women from abuse in their homes.
